Melbourne is a city famous for its sense of style. Glamorous events are a trademark of the city, as are its cafes, wineries and shops. Melbourne boasts a lifestyle experience. There are beautiful buildings, fantastic shopping precincts and countless shows, exhibitions and galleries to entertain. It is also very easy to get around with the constant stream of trams. Melbourne is a haven for special events. It is home to the country's richest horse race, the world-famous Tooheys Blue Melbourne Cup, the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Australian Open Tennis Championship, and the birthplace of Australian Rules Football. 2003 sees the Rugby World Cup Tour throughout Australia with games to be held in Melbourne. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is the best in the world. For sport of a different kind, Crown Casino is the biggest and best in Australia. Pubs in and near the city feature live entertainment and a chance to meet the locals. There are plenty of places to hang out late. Sport or entertainment, Melbourne has much more to offer than you will have time to enjoy. The city's multi-cultural mix of people from more than 100 countries has created a myriad of cafes and restaurants. Italian, Greek, Asian, Middle Eastern, African and leading Australian chefs provide taste sensations to please every palate and every pocket. Choose anything from fast food to the finest five-course dinner with a view and silver service. Victoria also produces superb wines and great beers. Just outside the city limits lies a world of natural beauty. The Twelve Apostles are accessible for a day trip although it is recommended you take your time travelling down the Great Ocean Road. Wilson's Promontory, a playground of wild animals, beaches, and forests, is only 3 hours drive away. Just around the corner on Phillip Island is the famous penguin parade. Each night, hundreds of penguins shuffle ashore with plenty of room for spectators to enjoy. Only 50 kilometres or 1 hour drive from Melbourne is the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, a region of hills, forests, and most importantly, wine. There are over 200 vineyards in Victoria with each producing magnificent wines. Further north is the high country where you can ski - and walk, kayak, canoe, abseil, fly and cycle. It is in these hills that Banjo Paterson wrote the poem, The Man from Snowy River.

As the birthplace of European settlement, Portland is steeped in history, with its past playing a big role in its present and future. Many of its 200 heritage buildings from the 1800's are now fine places to dine and/or to stay. Visitors can enjoy the special ambience and when it comes to dining, the local fishing industry ensures only the freshest seafood is on the menu. There is always some activity on Portland’s waterfront: big ships from around the world coming in to load up, the fishing fleet unloading its catch in the early morning or heading out in the dark of night and people enjoying the wide foreshore reserve. And for those who like dropping in a line, Portland is an angler’s paradise. From a boat or the beach, the range of fish that can be hooked is extensive, including King George whiting, flathead, snapper, tuna and mulloway. Details are available at the Visitor Information Centre. While locals may want to keep it quiet, Portland has some of the best surf this side of Bells Beach. The choice spots are Watertower, Blacknose, Crumpets, Yellow Rock and Murrells. And when in Portland during September and October, keep an eye out for southern right whales. These giants of the deep have been seen frolicking close to shore in Portland Bay. Visit the Portland Maritime Discovery and Visitors Centre, which showcases the maritime history of the region through a sight and sound-filled exhibition. View the oldest surviving intact vessel in Australia, the Portland Lifeboat built in 1858, or take a leisurely walk through the Portland Botanic Gardens, established in 1857.

Kangaroo Island is located 120 kilometres south west of Adelaide, just 16 kilometres off the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula. With 480 kilometres of coastline, the Island is the third largest off the Australian mainland. It can be reached by a 30-minute flight from Adelaide or a 45-minute vehicle and passenger ferry Kangaroo Island Sealink that departs daily from Cape Jervis, a 90-minute drive south of Adelaide. Officially discovered by English explorer Matthew Flinders in 1802, and visited shortly after by French explorer Nicolas Baudin, the Island was first settled by deserters from English and American whaling ships prior to its official European settlement in 1836. The island's isolation and limited development has ensured an abundance of wildlife, seldom found elsewhere, and living in a protected natural environment. Pure air and clean water makes Kangaroo Island one of the last unspoiled wonders of the world - and a unique wilderness holiday destination. The City of Albany is located 409 kilometres from the City of Perth on the Southern Coast of Western Australia. Albany is the regional centre for the Great Southern. Whether it’s a Destination Immersion dinner buffet or the Destination Immersion cuisine on the dinner menu, give your dining a little local flavor and enjoy on shore tastes onboard! You will also enjoy a wide variety of nightly selections such as filet mignon with black truffle sauce. With its elegant yet lively dining and renewed décor, it’s easy to see why this restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. Reservations are not accepted. Choose being seated at a table for two or as part of a larger group of fellow guests.

Aqualina: At Aqualina, you’ll find some of Italy’s most celebrated dishes as well as contemporary inventive cuisine. Start with lobster ravioli, followed by arugula and radicchio with prosciutto chips, and a Venetian seafood platter. You won’t be able to say no to these famous desserts: marsala custard, lemon soufflé, or tiramisu. The chefs love to be inspired, so after an on shore visit to a local market, you can also expect a delectable dish so local, you’ll feel like you’re not onboard anymore.

Prime C: At Prime C, you’re in for more than an array of delectable dining such as steaks cooked to perfection, crab cakes with remoulade, lobster bisque, lamb, game hens and seafood. Last but certainly not least, try the mini cinnamon-sugar donuts with dipping sauces for dessert. Expect a marvelous evening in a warm wood-paneled ambiance with stunning views and lush décor. If the chef has made a visit to a local market while in port, you’ll also have an authentic local dish to look forward to.

Specialty Dining: Guests staying in a suite are welcome to dine any night of the voyage in Aqualina or Prime C at no charge. Guests who have booked a Club Veranda, Club Oceanview, or Club Interior stateroom are subject to a USD 30 per-person cover charge in Aqualina or Prime C.

The Patio and Swirl & Top: Casual "pool grill" by day, then fine tablecloths and flickering candles will set the mood for a sit-down al fresco dining experience by night. Taste your way around the world with exclusive personalized dishes using local flavors of the places visited on the Destination Immersion® cuisine dinner menu served by professional wait staff. And for a little touch of whimsy, a self-serve frozen yogurt station—Swirl & Top. With a variety of flavors and your choice of toppings, it's the perfect way to cool off during the day or end your evening meal.

Mosaic Café and Mosaic @Night: Comfortable and stylish, Mosaic is the place where you'll find your favorite coffee drinks, just the way you like (for an additional fee). Slip into a comfortable seat and sip for a while. The perfect place to start (or end) your day, no matter where you are in the world. This just might become your favorite area on the ship.

Room Service: Room service is available 24-hours a day. Order from the full breakfast menu between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and have it delivered at your appointed time. Lunch and dinner room service features a menu of hearty soups, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizzas and desserts.
